Finished Chapter Six of Altogether Joyful Today!

Joie of Sulksbury

I had a wonderful day today. I got a rag quilt sewn for my newest grandchild. Now all I’ve got to do is the endless snipping. I remade all the old kitchen pot holders. I used a really fun and quirky paisley print I had leftover from making my nephew a baby quilt for his first child.

But best of all I finished Chapter Six of Altogether Joyful. Oh my goodness, I had no idea Ian was going to fall for Joie so hard and so fast!

Both of them are deeply and truly in love but its a fruitless attraction. He’s the richest lord in Medieval Scotland- she’s the base-born daughter of a Benedictine Abbot. Neither is suitable for the other in terms of conventional wisdom and culture.

And to top it all off, Ian’s newly discovered son has run away. I can’t wait to get in my office tomorrow and see what happens next!

Hope your day was cozy, warm, & filled to the brim with blessings!

These are the last two days to enter my monthly book giveaway. Hope you’ll take this opportunity to enter and win a signed copy of ‘Birdie Saves The World’. Birdie is proving popular on Amazon and has been as high as 8th in its category over the past month.

If you like contemporary Inspirational Romance I think you’ll like Birdie. Here is its link: Birdie

And of course I have to give a plug for my favorite cover artist Amy DeLoach. She is amazing and sure to make her name in book publishing circles! I’m so honored that she has done the art on two of my covers.

For Christmas this year, my wonderful husband had all my book covers framed for my office. The covers by Amy are by far the best. I love to look at them when I’m typing away on a new manuscript!

To enter this month’s contest all you need to do is comment, follow, like, retweet, pingback, or repin this post to enter. Don’t miss your chance to win!

Carried Away #18!

CarriedAway cover 2

Woohoo! Marketing called me today to tell me that Carried Away was number 18 in its category on amazon. Happy Dances All Around! Such exciting news!

If you’re one of the folks whose purchase made that happen- Thanks a bunch! I really appreciate your buying my books. Hopefully God used one of my stories to speak to you. I know He does that for me as I’m writing. Sometimes I’ll be typing along working my way down my outline for a book and suddenly the characters take a sharp turn. Before I know it I’ll look back at something spiritual I’ve written and say to myself, “Did that come from me?” And the answer is a resounding ‘no’!

I’m a firm believer that God has a plan. A plan for good for them that believe. I’m just as proud as punch that sometimes He includes my small efforts into the mix.

Hope you’re having a great weekend. I sure am. I spent the day in my office fine tuning some things. Hubby worked in the yard and is now in his ham shack [he’s a rabid ham radio aficionado]. Daughter called to let me know all’s well in her world. Talked to my elderly mother this morning- she’s such a blessing to me! And drum roll please…..I drive a really old car that is like a member of the family to me. She’s a 2003 Miata. I got her off of eBay and dragged my husband down to Florida one rainy Saturday to fetch her home.  This morning my husband and I took her for a new paint job. I resisted the urge to go with pink- too Barbie. And it was hard to not go with turquoise…my favorite color. In the end I decided to go with a repeat of the silver she was made with.

So I’m without wheels this week. I should get a lot of writing done, right? 1/4 through the new Medieval & I must say I’m loving it!

More in the next day or two.

Countdown Deal on Carried Away Today

CarriedAway cover 2I just wanted to let everyone know I’m running a CountDown Deal on Carried Away from the Amazon  Kindle Store today. It will be on sale for .99 for one day. Hope you’ll take the opportunity to snag it.  There’s also a deal where if you buy the print copy you automatically get the one from the Kindle store at .99. This is a bundle deal in place all the time.

When I was younger I was a big fan of Diana Palmer. She’s from my grandfather’s hometown and is sort of a Southern Celebrity when it comes to Romance Novelists. Carried Away is my homage to her Cowboy Romances but with a definite Christian emphasis.

Here’s the blurb for Carried Away if you’d like to read more about it:

Burnt Hickory, Montana, population 2,000 is the perfect place to live. At least that’s what the Witness Protection folks claim. Carrie Smith isn’t so sure. Four years ago she was a super model. Everything changed the day her father was murdered by a Mexican Drug Lord. Now she’s a frumpy kindergarten teacher waiting to testify in a trial meant to win justice for her Dad.

Gage Ferguson is an ex-Army Ranger who runs his family ranch in Burnt Hickory. He’s a new Christian with a violent and promiscuous past. Gage’s trying real hard to change his ways. But circumstances just keep getting in his way.

Sparks fly the minute they meet in the town’s only elevator. Both decide to judiciously avoid the other.

Then an old army buddy calls Gage asking for a favor…

Funny, heartwarming, and a wild ride from start to finish, Carried Away combines all the heart stopping adventure of an action movie with the quirky charm of a romantic comedy.

If you like your Inspirational Romance with an alpha-male and a spunky heroine, you’ll love ‘Carried Away’

On a side note it’s supposed to snow here tomorrow. I tell you, I can’t believe the weather we’re having down here in the Deep South this winter. One day it’s warm and your daffodils are blasting out of the ground. The next day the bird bath is frozen over like a little avian skating rink.  Hope where ever you are you’re warm and cozy tonight!

Hope you’ll give Carried Away a read! Love Never Fails, Grace

I’m in Love With Paxy!

Yes, I have fallen in love with one of the characters in Breaking Faith.  If you stop by here often you know I’m living vicariously in Eleventh Century Scotland right now. I’ve got Medieval research books scattered all over the house. Celtic music  is playing in my office. A spicy scented candle is burning on my desk. And I’m typing away on my computer. Every once in a while I stretch my fingers and look out the office’s second story window to watch the creek flow by below. Happily the second novel in The ChristKeepers series is flowing along too. And that brings me to the title of this post and my inordinate affection for little Paxy.

He’s the long lost son Ian MacAllister is slogging through a bitter Scottish Winter searching for. Paxy is cheeky and smart and usually up to no good. He gets himself into more scrapes than any child ever should. He’s an adorable rascal.

Of course his Aunt Faith isn’t going to surrender him to his father Ian. A father, I might add, whom Paxy never knew he had. A father with zero skills in parenting. A father who is the richest lord in Scotland and is being courted by the King of England for his wayward daughter Princess Matilda. If you’ve read Mercy’s Heart, you know Matilda [Mattie] is no angel herself.

Poor Ian has  a complicated life. He’s fighting his growing attraction to Faith, trying to be a good parent to Paxy, and fending off the advances of that scamp of a Princess- Mattie. All at the same time.

As usual, there’s plenty of humor and just as much heartbreak. I do love an angsty romance. Almost as much as I love a damaged hero. But that’s a post for another day.

Hope your world is warm and cozy tonight.

Rack Cards Arrived Today!

I know I blogged about my love of rack cards the other day, but I’ve got to do it again.

The new rack cards for Carried Away, Birdie Saves The World, & The Giftlings came in today.

I love them and have been giving serious thought about how to distribute them.

I already send them out with my free book giveaways and I stack them at book stores, libraries, & senior centers.

I’m thinking of doing a rack card giveaway. One of those ‘send me a SASE and I’ll send you a rack card.

What do you think? If you’d be interested in such a thing please let me know!

Hope you’re by a warm fire, in a cozy chair, with a cup of hot tea and a good book!
